The Steelers signed these guys today.
Any San Francisco, Tampa Bay, or Buffalo fans have an opinions or thoughts on these guys?
I.M.O.: Battle should compete with L. Sweed for the WR4 spot and likely has the edge over Sweed due to his special teams ability. Also, former 49ers S.T. coach Al Everest now holds the same position for the Steelers.
Depending on what the Steelers do with Ryan Clark, free agency, and the draft; Allen could be the starter at FS for the Steelers in 2010. From what I've read, Allen was a good special teams player. With Tyrone Carter being a FA and Ryan Mundy being unproven, I look for the Steelers to address the safety position again in free agency or very early in the draft.
Jonathan Scott started a handful of games for the Bills last season and the Bills former OL coach, Sean Kugler, is now the Steelers OL coach. So maybe Kugler saw something in Scott that he liked.
Any opinions or thoughts on these guys would be appreciated. Thanks!

The Steelers are also interested in bringing back ILB Larry Foote according to reports.

The Steelers have also re-signed Ryan Clark and Antwaan Randle El today. So it looks unlikely that the Steelers will be drafting a safety in the 1st round. But then, nobody expected them to draft Mendenhall when they did.
I imagine that with these signings the Steelers will drop out of the Leigh Bodden race and likely address CB early in the draft.
