I am in a 10-team league, roster of 16. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D, 1 Flex (can only be a RB/WR). In this league we can protect 1 player for only 1 year at a time and we can protect the player in the round that they were drafted the previous year.

It's my turn to select the slot that I would like to draft. The highest slot remaining is the 5th pick. However, I could also protect my 1st round pick from last year, Andre Johnson, and go to the 10th slot giving me AJ as my 1st round pick and then the 1st pick in the 2nd round. If I stay at the 5th pick my other choices to protect probably boil down to the following: Brandon Marshall in the 4th round, Tony Romo in the 5th, Knowshon Moreno in the 6th, Cedric Benson in the 8th, and LeSean McCoy in the 12th.

I am leaning towards taking the 5th pick and protecting one of the other 5 in a later round, but I hate to give up a stud like Andre Johnson. What do you think? I hope I haven't confused anyone out there. I can also add that I know that Ray Rice, Peyton Manning, and Adrian Peterson will be protected and off the board.

HELP!!!!!!

I like the idea (and value) of taking the 5th pick and keeping one of the RB's listed. Moreno or McCoy are very close, but only losing a 12th rd for McCoy is awesome value.
